Blog: Infrastructure in our Third District

Statement

Issues: Infrastructure

Infrastructure Throughout Colorado, and especially the Third Congressional District our small businesses and workforce rely daily on our infrastructure to get goods in and out and to make it to work. Colorado's infrastructure is in need of serious repair and update to keep our businesses up and running. Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) has complied a list of bridges in the most dire condition in Colorado. The Glenwood Springs I-70 Bridge at Grand Avenue is one of them.Federal funds are needed to fund and complete our infrastructure projects in Colorado. Even for projects that have already seen funding approved it is vital that federal funding remain available through the duration of the project. Scott Tipton has voted to only provide funding until May 2015, which is not enough time or funding to complete projects even where funding has been approved. As a civil engineer and small businessman I understand how important it is to our economy to have an infrastructure that allows us to sustain jobs and businesses. Tipton's partial solutions are not enough. It is imperative to have bring value to the citizens of our 3rd District. We need real, complete solutions and that is what I am about.
